Biography

Gian Marco Visconti is a writer, librarian, and urbanist. In his role as the Writing Centre Coordinator at MacEwan University, he ensures the day-to-day delivery of writing consultation services and guides the writing tutor team.

Gian Marco’s publication history contains a wide range of scholarly, journalistic, and creative work. He received the Canadian Library Association Student Article Award in 2015; the Glass Buffalo English Poetry Prize in 2016; and the SAAG Writing Prize in 2019. He was longlisted for the CBC Poetry Prize in 2018 and a finalist for the Alberta Magazine Award for Poetry in 2023. His research interests include the information needs of equity-deserving communities; heritage planning and conservation; multimodal learning; and research creation.
